Congratulations to The Many Coated!

The Many Coated - Stroud Song Contest 2021

Congratulations to our 2021 winners The Many Coated with their awesome entry Rely on Me. Their joyful delivery and heart-warming lyrics, about supporting a friend through sadness, struck a chord with our voters and judges this year.

Stroud Song Contest 2021 really has been the biggest and best yet. After a summer of listening and growing to love all 49 song entries, we were treated to an evening of outstanding and memorable performances from 12 finalists.

Thank you to every musician who performed live on stage. You, and your songs, were all brilliant. And thank you to everyone who turned up to support the acts at the Grand Final.

We were treated to sizzling performances by:

✰ Mr Marko’s Outer Space Emporium
✰ Cat Mead
✰ Layman
✰ Darklight Horizon
✰ Toadstone
✰ Will Lawton
✰ The Peekies
✰ Kimibeatz, featuring Ronnie McGrath
✰ Ben Brockett
✰ Luke Philbrick
✰ Bro
✰ The Many Coated
✰ And last but not least, Corin, Stroud Song Contest 2021 Junior Winner who wowed the audience by singing and playing his winning song ‘Song of the Polar Bear’ live, with poise and perfection.

Huge credit must also go to:

  • Robin Layfield, whose announcements, introductions and infectious enthusiasm kept the evening running smoothly and whose jokes cheered us through our pre-show nerves.
  • Steve Wilce, whose sound and light expertise gave the evening a pro-show feel and ensured we could hear the wonderful music clearly.
  • Rodda Thomas and The Crown & Sceptre pub for providing a fantastic marquee venue and making sure nobody was left thirsty!
  • Woodchester Valley Vineyard, Contract Store, Sound Records, Joseph Hair, The Crown & Sceptre, Confection Affection and Bobbington’s Books for supporting and sponsoring the Song Contest this year.
  • All of you who donated, bought T-shirts, cookies and raffle tickets to massively help us towards making the contest happen; our judges who worked hard to ensure the songs were all judged fairly; and all you listeners and voters for the loan of your eager ears.

Thank you.

We’re so happy to have been able to bring together and share such a rich collection of diverse local music. The quality of songs and performances this year was extremely high. The music scene in Stroud is vibrant. Let’s all continue celebrating and supporting it. ❤
